Sharing Santa Bringing a Bit of Christmas Magic to Local Families

In the run up to Christmas, I was proud to help organise and support the Sharing Santa appeal for the forth year, a simple idea with one clear aim. Making sure children and families locally did not miss out at Christmas.

The appeal brought together local people, schools, community groups and organisations who all wanted to do something positive for others. Thanks to that generosity, we were able to collect and distribute toys and gifts to families who needed extra support during what can be a really difficult time of year.

What stood out most to me was the kindness behind it. Donations came in quietly and without fuss, people just wanting to help because it felt like the right thing to do.

“Sharing Santa was about dignity, kindness and making sure no child felt forgotten at Christmas.”

This work was never about recognition. It was about making Christmas a little brighter for families under pressure and showing what can be achieved when a community pulls together.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the appeal and helped turn a simple idea into something that made a real difference locally.

Community action like this is something I will always support and champion.
