Cold weather makes everyday life harder for many people, particularly older and vulnerable residents. That is why I have been involved in organising the collection, purchase and delivery of food and essential items over recent weeks.
This was not about making a point. It was about making sure people had what they needed, when they needed it. With the help of generous local donations and volunteers, support reached residents quickly and with dignity.
This kind of practical help reflects what I believe local representation should be about. Not just raising concerns, but stepping in and working with others to offer solutions.
Looking after one another should not be an exception. It should be the norm.
