Recently, there has been a renewed focus on road safety outside Malvern School, and it is something I fully support.
Pick up and drop off times can be busy and pressured, but that is exactly why care and patience matter most. Children, parents and school staff should be able to move around safely without worrying about speeding vehicles, unsafe parking or drivers ignoring signage.
I have spoken with residents and parents who raised understandable concerns about safety outside the school gates. These concerns deserve to be taken seriously, and it is right that road safety messages are reinforced to protect children and everyone using the area.
“Keeping children safe has to come before convenience. Slowing down, parking responsibly and following the rules can make a real difference.”
Road safety is a shared responsibility. Small actions such as obeying signage, giving pedestrians space and taking a few extra moments can help prevent accidents and keep our streets safer.
I will continue to support efforts that improve safety around our schools and listen to residents when concerns are raised. Protecting children and families should always be a priority for our community.
