Earlier this morning at 7:30am, I reported a sinkhole that had developed on Archway Road at the pedestrian crossing near the junction with Blacklow Brow.
As soon as the issue was identified, the matter was reported to Knowsley Council Highways so that urgent action could be taken. Road defects like this can pose a real risk to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, particularly at busy crossing points.
I’m pleased that swift action was taken to attend the site and make the road safe, ensuring the immediate risk to the public was reduced while further investigation and repairs are arranged.
Keeping a close eye on our local roads and public spaces is an important part of being visible and responding quickly when issues arise. By reporting problems early, we can help make sure they are addressed before they become more serious.
If you notice issues like this in the area, please do report them – quick reporting helps ensure they are dealt with as quickly as possible.
