I spent some time at Cyril Cook Park recently and it was great to see the first signs of spring starting to appear.
There is something about this time of year that lifts the place. The days are getting longer, the trees are starting to show fresh colour, and you can feel the change in the air. It is a reminder of how lucky we are to have such a well used and valued green space right here in our community.
Cyril Cook Park is more than just a park. It is somewhere people go to walk, clear their head, spend time with family, or just enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Spaces like this really do matter to people, and you can see that in how well used it is throughout the day.
It also highlights the importance of continuing to protect and invest in our local parks. These spaces do not look after themselves. They rely on ongoing support, local investment and the efforts of volunteers who care about keeping them clean, safe and welcoming for everyone.
A big thank you to those volunteers and local groups who play their part. Their work often goes unseen, but it makes a real difference.
If you have not been down recently, I would really encourage you to take a walk through Cyril Cook Park over the next few days. You can already see the early signs of spring, and it is only going to get better from here. 🌼
