Like many residents, I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed that the telecommunications companies have decided to push ahead with the installation of temporary mast towers in Huyton Village.
Over recent weeks, residents have raised genuine concerns about the impact on our community, the process that has been followed, and the lack of meaningful engagement from the companies involved.
Despite this, the decision has been taken to proceed.
One installation is linked to a planning permission agreed previously in 2024. However, I am deeply disappointed that the second operator has chosen to use emergency legislation powers to move forward before the proposal was even presented to the Planning Committee.
That simply does not feel right.
As your local ward councillor, I want residents to know that I hear your concerns, I share your anger, and I remain fully committed to standing alongside our community throughout this process.
Alongside my ward colleagues Kevin and Megan, I will continue working tirelessly with residents, Council officers, and all parties involved to push for a suitable long-term solution as quickly as possible.
We will continue demanding assurances from the telecommunications companies that these temporary structures are removed once a permanent alternative is secured.
Our community deserves respect.
Our residents deserve to be listened to.
And we will continue fighting for the best possible outcome for Huyton Village.
