It was a real pleasure to spend the day at the Knowsley Flower Show, being there from start to finish and seeing first-hand just how much this fantastic event means to our community.
Throughout the day, I had the opportunity to speak with many residents, catch up with familiar faces and meet new people. One of the highlights was seeing so many happy children and families enjoying everything the event had to offer.
From the fantastic range of stalls and community organisations to the funfair, activities and, of course, the Flower Show itself, there really was something for everyone.
What visitors see on the day is only possible because of an enormous amount of work behind the scenes. The dedication of the organisers, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to make the event such a success deserves huge recognition and thanks.
For me, it wasn’t just about being there and enjoying the day. Once the crowds began to leave, I joined in with the litter picking, helping the team with the clean-up and doing my bit to make sure Court Hey Park was left looking its best.
With thousands of people coming together, the day showcased everything that is great about our borough – our community spirit, local organisations, families and people all coming together.
Events of this scale firmly place Knowsley on the city region map, and I was incredibly proud to be there and play a small part in one of the biggest events in our local calendar.
A brilliant day from start to finish and a fantastic celebration of our community.
